Of Breakfast & Beverage!

Day 2

Disclaimer: Please read this post with food in vicinity. The author is not responsible for any hunger pangs experienced by the reader.  ðŸ˜‰

As is evident from my last post, the challenge of 100 days of happiness commenced yesterday. After sharing the link with my near and dear ones, the day started. The response given by people who matter the most has been overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who visited this blog. Also, please leave a comment so I know you were here :D

For today's reason for happiness, I need to elaborate a bit on my love for food. I belong to the category of people who love, no who feel food. As the blog name already suggests, I have not one but 32 sweet teeth.

I woke up with a big smile on my face for starting this blog. I felt energized and ready to jump in to the day. Well within the first 5 minutes that I was awake, my beautiful flatmate told me that she was making breakfast for us. God bless her! As almost anyone who lives without their parents, my usual breakfast is (if there is any) consists of cold milk with cereals. On hearing those magical words "I'm making idli for breakfast, the smile on my face widened" Thank you Ruju for the early morning hot breakfast.

Below is a picture of the same:

The cherry on the cake was the fact that I got to enjoy one of my favorite beverage of all times today while I met a friend in the evening - Hot Chocolate. It just melted in my mouth. Scroll down for a yum view

Yeah! I know right!! 😋

As they say "Good food is good mood"

I can write an entire different blog on my love for food, but let me leave that for a different time possibly in future. Till then wishing you all a yummy day ahead. Let your taste buds relish all things savoury and sweet!

Ending this post by thanking all the wonderful people who contribute in each and every in delivering amazing food and beverages to us "mango" people.

The 100 days of happiness challenge!

So, I am back to this blog yet again. Over the weekend, I was thinking that we as humans have gotten so involved in the rat-race and running behind this whole elusive idea of success that we have forgotten the ultimate reason for wanting success.
I mean think about it, why did the whole concept of success come in? Because we believe it will provide us with happiness. Then why is it that we forget to be happy in the process of achieving it?
It started raining in my hometown this weekend. The weather was so beautiful and the neighbourhood kids were all dancing in the rain without a care! That beautiful smile on that little girl’s face brought a smile to mine as well. The taste of the hot tea made by dad made the conversations that happened over it even more beautiful.
The last one year has been difficult for me-professionally and personally.
Don’t worry, I am not here to rant. Not in this post anyway :P
Anyway, I have this sinking feeling that I am not able to finish anything I start. I used to love reading, but ever since my MBA, I have not been able to finish even a single book
(Heart be like- Does re-reading Harry Potter and the Half Prince Count, Brain- NO)
I started a weight-loss regime with all pomp and show, 4 weeks later, all gone.
I thought maybe I need to change something deep within me. I need to re-discover that lost self. That is when I cam across  this website.
Apparently 71% people have failed to complete this challenge. But hey 29% have succeeded. So this is me commencing the 100 happy days challenge starting today.

Like Barney Stinson would say "Challenge Accepted"!

Day 1
3rd July 2017
Well this one is easy. I got my appraisal today, and I got my expected rating. I also got a decent increment which for a first timer is good to start. So, I am grateful to everyone who made it possible by supporting me and to God for giving me the strength to survive the past year.
I cannot post the picture of the letter due to official reasons, I can certainly post how I decided to treat myself for my hard work
So here goes..
I bought for myself…Wait for it….

Yes! this amazing Harry Potter poster! And I cannot wait for it to arrive
So that is my 1st happy day people!
Wish me luck for the rest 99! :) Stay blessed. Stay happy.

Ramblings of an indecisive mind

So, here I am with my second-time first blog post.
Yay me!!
Yeah, sounds weird/stupid I know. You see the usage of the slash itself validates the title.
So, I often wonder why the indecisiveness?  Is it just a Pisces thing (yeah, too much into zodiacs) or is it an issue experienced by the millennials. I am not sure if it should be tagged as an issue because well, if you really think about it, it isn’t. I mean yes indecisiveness has been linked with fickle mind for way too long. But I also feel that it also means being open to new experiences. And can you blame us? We grew up in a world with Google, Facebook, Tinder, Twitter and Terribly tiny tales.
I like to call it as the famous “Paradox of Choices”. You see, people like me, and by that I mean kids who have grown up in a moderately open environment, have  experienced most of the basic luxuries of life, tend to have a tough time making decisions. The decision can range from trying to decide on a dish (gone are the days when Pizza only meant Pizza Hut and Punjabi only meant paneer tikka masala) to major life decisions such as selecting a life partner.
If you are amongst the unlucky (or lucky? ;) ) ones who are from India and have opted for the oh-so-infamous “Arranged Marriage”, then trust me you, it is going to be an exhaustive ride for you.
Since I have recently experienced the process myself, I would like to take this opportunity to shed a light on a few experiences. I like to think of arranged marriage as a process of sorting people into houses. Even though, you desperately want someone to be a Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, after talking to them the only choices you have are Slytherin or Hufflepuff. And it is worse when the person has a slytherin anger with a Gryffindor like heart and a ravenclaw mind. Ok I think I am losing myself in the post-20 years harry potter celebration mood.
There came a point where I used to feel guilty for being so ambiguous. But the more I experience this world, it makes sense. I am not in any way trying to defend it, but all I am saying is that probably this kind of a mind helps in understanding the best and worst of all situations and if required someday take the right call.
